Everything you want to know about our all-natural,
handmade premium horse treats - made on St. Simons Island, Georgia.
Every Quendalls Horse Treats recipe includes ingredients that are all-natural, Non-GMO, and pure whole ingredients - with absolutely no preservatives, dyes, or additives. These ingredients have no place in a horse's diet, and we intend to keep it that way.
Our Original Premium Horse Treat recipe includes:
Many horse treat companies add preservatives or additives to extend shelf life, and dyes to improve visual appearance or mimic flavors - such as adding orange or red dye to a carrot-flavored treat, or using apple flavoring instead of real apples.
These are simply additives that have no place in a horse's diet. Quendalls does not add any of these ingredients - and never will.
Most horse treats sold at conventional farm supply stores contain added preservatives, additives, and dyes to improve flavor, shelf life, and appearance - along with artificial vitamins, minerals, and supplemental ingredients that claim to benefit equine health.
Quendalls' mission is simple - to provide a "just like homemade" horse treat made from ingredients you know and feel confident giving your horse, exactly as if you had made it yourself at home.
Yes - always. Unlike mass-produced horse treats, Quendalls treats are made in small batches, hand rolled, and hand stamped.
While Quendalls is growing in popularity and more treats are being produced, we will always maintain our high-quality, small-batch, handmade process. That commitment to our customers never changes - no matter how big we grow.
The "running horse" stamp on every Quendalls treat was a thoughtful, intentional choice - an image that best expresses the creative and inspiring spirit of the product and the horse community we serve.
Quendalls officially opened its doors in April 2025 - but the treats themselves have been perfected since 2021, when they were first made to bring to the barn, share with fellow equestrians, and reward horses and ponies during lessons and shows.
What started as a heartfelt labor of love has grown into something truly special - and every batch still carries that same handmade care and intention. 🐴
Many people assume molasses means "sugar" - but blackstrap molasses is quite different. It is the result of the third boiling stage of sugar cane juice, producing a less sweet, thicker, and more robust flavor. It contains roughly 45% sugar compared to regular molasses at 70%, and is higher in iron, calcium, magnesium, and potassium.
Quendalls chooses blackstrap molasses for its lower sugar content, flavor balance, and natural binding properties - holding our wholesome ingredients together without any artificial preservatives or additives. It is simply the healthier, smarter choice.
Beet pulp is a well-recognized ingredient in equine nutrition. It adds fiber and energy while keeping sugar and starch content low - and is often used on its own as a fiber supplement for horses.
At Quendalls, we include beet pulp in our treats to balance out the natural sugars provided by the fruit and whole oats, creating a more nutritionally harmonious treat your horse can enjoy every day.
Yes. The oats in Quendalls treats are whole oats - blended fresh daily right before being mixed into the molasses and other ingredients. Our oat flour is simply processed and always sourced from whole, non-GMO oats - never ultra-processed. We believe what goes in matters as much as what stays out.
Quendalls treats are made from the best sourced, fresh ingredients that are safe for horses. Our production facility is located on St. Simons Island, Georgia. Because our local and state climate does not naturally produce all of our ingredients, we source each one where it grows best.
Ingredients like bananas and coconut may come from other countries because that is where they naturally thrive. Strawberries, apples, and oats are sourced from the United States. Quendalls always purchases from sustainable sources.
Currently, Quendalls does not offer grain-free or low-sugar options. Our horse treats are all-natural and portioned in a small size that should not cause health concerns when given 1-3 per day as a supplemental treat only.
It is always important to consult your veterinarian before offering any horse treat to ensure it is appropriate for your specific equine.
We always recommend that equine owners consult their qualified veterinarian before giving any horse treats - especially for horses with Cushing's disease, metabolic concerns, or any health condition. Each veterinarian will have their own recommendations based on your horse's individual needs.
When consulting your vet, please provide them with the full Quendalls ingredient list and treat size. We are confident in our ingredients and portion size, but your veterinarian's guidance always comes first.
Quendalls horse treats are supplemental feed only. Our recommendation is 1 to 3 treats per day - given as an expression of love and a thank you for a job well done. They are the perfect reward after a ride, a lesson, or a show.
Yes - Quendalls treats are safe for all equine, no matter the size. Whether you have a full-sized horse, a pony, a miniature horse, or a donkey - every member of your herd can enjoy Quendalls. 🐴
This is entirely up to the equine owner. Horse treats in general are often used as rewards, and it is safe to give foals Quendalls treats at 3 months and older - or once they have transitioned into solid feed. As always, use your best judgment and consult your veterinarian if you have any questions.
You should always consult your veterinarian before giving any horse treat to a horse on a restricted diet. Please share our full ingredient list with your vet so they can advise based on your horse's specific dietary needs.
Quendalls treats are usually widely accepted by all equine - they are considered a chew treat and can be broken into pieces easily without crumbling. You can feed them whole or break them into smaller pieces to start.
We recommend starting with 1 to 3 treats per day as supplemental feed only. Always give a horse treat as a thank you for a job well done - it makes the moment even more special. 🐴
Quendalls treats have a shelf life of 2 or more months - verified by a University of Georgia shelf-stability test. Store them out of direct sunlight, in a sealed bag to prevent unwanted access. Cooler storage is not required but recommended. Refrigeration is not recommended.
All Quendalls treats are shipped freshly made - we do not keep pre-made inventory sitting on shelves. Our treats are slowly dried (not baked) and fully cooled to preserve naturally, ensuring a 2 or more month shelf life.
All product bags are heat sealed and quality controlled before shipping to ensure no holes or damage have occurred. Your order arrives fresh, every time.
